Question : PROPOSALS UNDER CENTRAL ROAD FUND



(a) whether during the Tenth Five Year Plan more than 100 proposals from 6 States were sanctioned under the Central Road Fund vis-à-vis less than 10 proposals of 13 other States;

(b) if so, the details thereof and reasons therefor, State-wise;

(c) whether any proposals from three Union Territories were sanctioned out of the said Fund;

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the steps taken by the Union Government to remove such disparity?

(a) to (e) During the Tenth Five Year Plan more than 100 proposals in 6 States, between 10 to 100 proposals in 16 states and less than 10 proposals only in 6 States were sanctioned under the Central Road Fund (CRF). Besides, 77 proposals in 5 Union Territories were also sanctioned under CRF. The state/UTs-wise details is Annexed. The proposals under CRF are sanctioned subject to conformance to Ministry’s guidelines, depending upon the utilizations of funds and inter-se priority of works assigned to the proposals by the State Governments.
