(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. The meeting had been convened on 19.9.2000 to discuss the problems of Readymade Garment Industry.
(c): Yes, Sir. A consensus view which emerged in the meeting was in favour of dereservation of readymade Garments as that would ensure competitive strength to the Indian Readymade Garment Sector.
(d): The Government has recently announced in the National Textile Policy, 2000 the dereservation of readymade Garments from the list of items reserved for exclusive manufacture in the small scale sector.
