(a) the total number of registered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country including Bihar at present, State/UT-wise;

(b) whether the Government has launched any scheme for development of the MSMEs in the country; and

(c) if so, the details thereof along with the funds allocated/ released for the purpose during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise?

STATEMENT REFFERED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) to (c) IN RESPECT OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. *107 FOR ANSWER ON 25.07.2016

(a): Total number of registered micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country including State of Bihar as on 18.07.2016 is 47,89,609. The number of MSME units registered as Udyog Aadhar Memorandum till 18.07.2016 is 10,28,733. Earlier till 29.09.2006, MSME units were registered as small scale industry and from 29.09.2006 to 18.09.2015 as Enterprise Memorandum II (EM II). The total number of MSME units with SSI registration is 15,63,974 and as EM-II registration 21,96,902. The total number of units registered in the State of Bihar are 3,49,992. The State-wise number of registered MSMEs as on 18.07.2016 in the country is given at Annexure –I.

(b) & (c): Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has been implementing several schemes and programmes for development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the country. Major schemes/programmes include Credit Guarantee Scheme for SMEs, Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS), Cluster Development Programme, Assistance to Training Institutions (ATI) Scheme, Prime Ministers’ Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP), Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFRUTI), A Scheme for Promotion of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Agro Industry (ASPIRE) and National Manufacturing Competitive Programme(NMCP), Performance and Credit Rating Scheme (PCRS), Marketing Assistance Scheme (MAS) and International Cooperation Scheme .

For implementing various schemes for the development of MSMEs, Government allocated Rs. 2600.00 Crore, Rs. 2500.00 Crore and Rs. 2620.00 Crore for 2013-14 (RE), 2014-15 (RE) and 2015-16( RE) respectively. Plan Outlay for the year 2016-17 (BE) is Rs. 3000.00 Crore. State-wise breakup for all the schemes is not captured. The funds allocated /released for the purpose during the last three years and the current year are given below:
