Question : ITIS IN NER



(a) the total number of ITIs, both Government and private, in the North-Eastern Region, State-wise;

(b) whether the number of ITIs is sufficient to meet the requirement of the people of the region;

(c) if not, whether the Government has any plan to set up more ITIs in the region;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the time by which the same are likely to be set up, State-wise;

(e) whether the Government proposes to explore the Public Private Partnership (PPP) route for estab- lishing ITIs in NER; and

(f) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) The state-wise break-up of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in North-Eastern Region is given below:

(b) to (d) No, Madam. Skill Development Infrastructure in North East Region is not sufficient to meet the re- quirement of the people in the region. Government has taken steps to established new ITIs in the region which is a continuous process.

(e) & (f) Due to comparatively low availability of Private Partners in North Eastern Region (NER), at present there is no finalized plan to establish to ITIs in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
