(a) to (c): The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is implementing a flagship scheme “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)- A scheme to bring about Blue Revolution through sustainable and responsible development of fisheries sector in India” with highest ever investment of Rs. 20050 crore in the fisheries sector over a period of five years with effect from the financial year 2020-21 to financial year 2024-25 in all States/Union Territories. PMMSY is implemented as an umbrella scheme with two separate Components namely (i) Central Sector Scheme (CS) Component with an investment of Rs. 1720 crore and (ii) Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) Component with an investment of Rs. 18330 crore. The PMMSY inter-alia targets for generating employment opportunities to about 55 lakh population and doubling the fishers and fish farmers income. PMMSY is implemented with effect from the current financial year (2020-21) and Government of West Bengal has not submitted any proposal during the current financial year under the PMMSY.
